This is the era of the DJ.
Michael Allen (DJ Maj - pronounced "madge") is a leader in the ever-evolving genre while continuing to write and deliver hip hop anthems to headphones and hearts.
Maj explains, "The emergence of the DJ in pop culture is an on-time fit for me. The DJ "IS THE BAND" now!" At my core, I'm a teacher, a mentor and counselor. Music is the conduit God's given me to express all three in this season of life. I create a festive celebration through my DJ sets, and then share my heart through songs like "Greatest Me Ever". 16 years under industry pioneer TobyMac has given me a space to nurture and fine tune my gift and understand the responsibility of having a platform. You have to pray to keep your passion. It has to be the absolute best when someone like Toby gives you direct interaction with 300,000 of his fans annually for 16 years. This is a loyal fan base and they expect nothing less than your best! I've also learned that creativity doesn't have to be this or that. It can be both! Consider everything you know about the EDM (Electronic Dance Music) scene and combine it with your favorite rapper. That's me. The energy of Steve Aoki combined with the heartfelt lyrical contemplation of Chance The Rapper. All with the purpose of revealing the cross. I create an authentic musical experience so I can deliver an authentic life-changing message. That's the end result for me.."
Maj's first single of 2017 features Gotee Recording artist, Aaron Cole with "What If (produced by Victor "Liquid: Oquendo)." The collaboration pays tribute to the DC Talk classic, "What If I Stumble."
Maj states, "I'm grateful to my brothers for giving me the blessings to remake the song. Because of them, I've learned to appreciate the concept of a loving community. That's very dear to my heart. Life happens! It’s a given. Hopefully, we learn to PRAY before we POST."
Maj is working on his 5th full album which features collaborations include Byron "Talkbox" Chambers of Bruno Mars' 24k Magic (currently approaching 1 billion YouTube views), Kevin Max (of DC Talk), Shonlock, Just.Live, and production from Grammy award-winning producer Roy Battle (Eminem, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, etc.).
